Sakura Cuisine

Mom and I had a lunch date one day and we went to Sakura for it. Nope, not Sakura International! But rather, Sakura Cuisine which is located at Far East Plaza. I've been going to this particular restaurant for quite a long time! Ever since I was really little, and since then, the restaurant has changed its decor to become a nicer and more welcoming place.

This restaurant offers local cuisine such as fried rice, kway teow etc, and it also offers local side dishes. That day, mom and I had the beef fried rice and dendeng kway teow. Haha tbh, the names are just a good guess on my part because I forgot what they were called. But! I'm confident that it's somewhat similar.

Beef Fried Rice

Large serving, a lot of beef and egg. Not salty. Yum!

Dendeng Kway Teow

Can you see the dendeng? It's those rectangle-ish stuff... Okay, maybe not. But there were many pieces of it, and it was good! Super like it :)

Fried wan tan

This is one of my family's favourites when we dine here! Very crispy and the crispyness has a really nice taste. Only thing was that on that day, the filling inside was very little! >:{

All in all, a good meal. And guess what!! Even though we were served and all, there's no service charge!! Hoho I love restaurants that has no service charge :)

Before this visit and way before I opened this blogshop, I had went there before and took pictures of my food for my personal blog. So here they are, not gonna comment on them because I've forgotten what they tasted like.

 Seafood fried rice

Some crispy noodle thing? Lol.

Anyway, it's been quite some time since the lunchdate with my mom, and I seem to have lost my receipt for this restaurant, thus I can't record down the price. Many apologies!! I do know that each dish is around 4-6 bux though! It's definitely affordable la, and like I said, no service charge! That should definitely lure you in, if nothing else. In any case, if you're at far east, do drop by to check out their food :D

Tang Tea House

How sad, poly is starting soon! I'm on the fence about whether I'm happy for school to start or not. On one hand, getting back to my normal scheduled life sounds good, but on the other hand, I love being bored! Being bored after all holds many possibilities of activities to do. You can watch tv, read, eat, go out, etc etc. Lol yes I lead a pretty happy life during the hols.

So when my friend asked me if I wanted to eat halal dim sum, of course I leapt at the chance. We went to Tang Tea House at Bedok. Tang Tea House is a little higher class than a hawker centre, but lower class than a restaurant. I wasn't fussed because that means that the food would be cheaper! Hoho.

The menu

The place is quite big, and there are seats outside too

Halal logo!

Ordered the homemade ice lemon tea ($1.60) and fresh lemon juice with sour plum ($2.20). The ice lemon tea tastes normal but the fresh lemon juice with sour plum was super sweet!

Waited for awhile and then the food came!! :)

 Hehe ^^

So let me break them down for you.

Pan fried chicken dumpling - $3.80

Har kow - $3.50

Steamed beancurd roll in thai style - $3.20

Shanghai steamed chicken dumpling - $3.80

HAHA i dont know what else to say about them other than the fact that they all taste good! Realllyyyy not kidding lol. They were bursting with flavour and the meat/shrimp inside them was juicy and succulent.

Soup shrimp ball - $3.00

And this thing is super cute! Before eating it, you're supposed to suck the soup inside it. Didn't like the soup much though. It was quite salty and... You know how sometimes when you eat something decadent, you know with a fact that your weight/health is gonna pay for it? Well it was the same for the soup, it was simply too salty to be healthy.

Anw! This is what it looks like when I cut it.

The outside is crispy while the inside is chewy (in a good way). Yummy :)

Sooo I definitely had a good lunch! The service was good and the rest of the food looks tempting too. I definitely want to come back here again!!

Total cost: $24.10 (no service charge or gst!!)
Location: No. 357/359 Bedok Road (opp Bedok Post Office)
Directions on how to get there from Tanah Merah MRT: http://tinyurl.com/82ejyvf

Anyway, like I mentioned, school is starting soon and I worry that I won't have any thing to blog about! I have some food places that I haven't blogged about yet, but only one or two. Was thinking of posting recipes that I've been trying out in my free time! Anyone interested in hearing about that? Hmm.

BB'Z Collection

Hi there!

I'm aware that I haven't been updating here lately, but that's because I haven't been going to eat at places worth blogging about! I should stop eating fastfood tsk.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, my sister ordered cake in a jar from an online malay seller. I managed to snap a few pictures of it before we gobbled it up :D

The entire pretty package, set with a spoon

Yumz

Heh this is called the Oreo Nutella Cheesecake, and it's really gobble-icious. Get it from BB'Z if you're a fan of chocolate or cheesecake! :) If you're not, check them out still because they have a number of other flavours, and they even have homemade ice cream!
