First outdoor iftar of 2012

I realise that this blog has been sparse lately, and I do apologise for that. It's just that during fasting month, I tend to stick at home more. On Friday though, I decided to break that trend at buka-ed outside.

 My root beer float!

Look at that Ramadhan set behind me. For that, a drink, chicken soup and a brownie, it only costs $15.90! I did not purchase that deal though as I did not want to eat anything on there.

 Chicken-ham and Cheese salad

Ooh I love the yummy garlic bread. It tastes extra buttery there yum yum. Cranberries in a salad surprisingly makes it taste better because of the sour-y feeling that comes from it which complements the entire salad test. This was surprisngly filling and I couldn't finish it!

Okay la, my friends have mentioned that my appetite seems to be non-existent (not true, I swear) so maybe that's why?

Black Pepper Ala Carbonara Seafood Pasta

Yummy. Or maybe I'm bias  because I love cream sauce and prawns. Hehe. The cream was nice and thick, which I thoroughly love, however, what I don't love was the very very strong black pepper taste coming from it. Towards the end, eating was a torture because all you could taste was black pepper.

What's a meal without dessert right! My friend and I ordered Apple Crumble and Tiramisu.

I thought a cafe would be selling nice cakes, but it's actually quite meh. Disappointing, considering how excited I was to see the cheap price of it. Okay R Cafe, time to make better cakes and up the prices! It's just better to eat a maybe $3plus cake and have it taste nice than eat a $1plus cake and have it taste like it came from NTUC.

Apple crumble had a strong cinnamon taste coming from the apple. Couldn't taste the crumble itself. Tiramisu, couldn't taste the creamy part which is supposed to be coming from the white part.

So has anybody guessed where I dined at? :D

Royals Cafe is located at City Square which is at Farrer Park Station. I supposed, despite the meh-ness of some parts of the food, it was a good dining experience. But if I were to drop by City Square again, I would definitely dine at some other place. They do have quite a few halal restaurants there, so do drop by!

Total: $25.20
